So I can't believe I haven't posted about our kid-free evening last weekend. Mom & Dad took BOTH kiddos back to Ft. Worth for a sleepover last Saturday night. And we are happy to report that the evening went off without a hitch - apparently both kids were great. I knew Grace would be, but even Alex went to bed without freaking out, and also woke up the next day sans Mama without freaking out. It probably wore Mom & Dad out, but they seemed to survive pretty intact also.
Jim and I had just about a perfect evening - we walked down to the The Old Monk for some excellent fish and chips. Then we decided the evening was so nice we walked over to the closest Starbucks to enjoy a beverage out front (nice to do without having to occupy small kids). Of course we had to end up at Froggie's, because the best time to go to a toy store is WITHOUT kids. The weather was beautiful - clear with a cool breeze. And the people-watching was great. We ended up with a nice little 2 mile walk, a few beers, a yummy coffee, and topped it all off with watching Tivo'd programs way into the evening. Aahh.

You watched movies?? Don't you know what you are supposed to do when the kids are gone?
My question too - only I didn't ask. Then again, I wonder what kind of movies they TIVOed...
oh yeah, didn't think about that.....
