We waited forever for it to get going. Jim was very skeptical that it would come to anything. But when it started sprouting it was amazing to see. It was growing from 1 to 1 1/2 inches each day. We measured it each night and announced how much taller it had gotten.

It got very tall. It measures 31 inches from the base of the pot to the top tip of the flower.
Yes, this is how I "staked" the plant. In my defense, I noticed right as we were going upstairs to bed that the plant was leaning precariously. Twine for recycling and scissors were handy. Problem solved.
